Detoxification is a big buzz nowadays and for a good reason.

“We do not live in the natural world as we used to. We live in a society that increases the toxic load on our bodies every day,” explains Darlene Holloway, LMBT, CT, SIT, the owner of Alternative Health Center of Cary and the president of North Carolina Colon  Hydrotherapy Safety Association. “Colon cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. We are what we eat and drink. Read the labels of all those boxed processed foods that we bring back home from the grocery store. They are full of chemicals. Our fruits and vegetables absorb all the pesticides and artificial fertilizers they were sprayed with. Our body is not designed to process chemicals. Our body is designed to process food. Man-made chemicals effectively confuse our digestive system and as a result are stored in the body.”
